Ridge of the Rockies - Chama NM to Pagosa Springs CO

Another beautiful day although it was a little colder at the start (7 am).  As soon as we got into some sunshine things warmed up, and extra clothing was shed by the first rest stop.

It was into Colorado today as we completed the New Mexico part of this journey.  Pagosa Springs is known for its hot springs as well as a very cold river that runs through town (the San Juan River).

Mileage today was just shy of 50 miles, except for those willing to take the optional climb up to Wolf Creek Summit.  I decided to use this day as an active recovery day, so did not attempt Wolf Creek.

  1. Ah, see that Ms Retta Deane is certainly ready for any task with the Gloves Of Purple!

So far - so good on the homefront,

  2. "I decided to use this day as an active recovery day, so did not attempt Wolf Creek." -- Reminds me of something one person once mentioned: "you don't get your name in the "Book of Martyrs" from riding in [miserable conditions]." -- Who said that?

"Karl and Jack" -- looks to me as if someone just ahead was adjusting their gear, or taking a pause to get a good drink, or something.

Like that sinuous road pic with the snow covered mtns in the background.

Love the pic of Retta Deane smiling while washing the dishes. I'm wondering, does she whistle while she works?

    Love that fast-flowing stream.
